[Q & A] Android auto communication error 16

I have a fully updated phone and auto app. I am not running any 'dual apps' but I am still getting this error.  I have tried uninstalling android auto and restarting the phone, but the problem persists!
Any ideas out there please?

I fixed it. open settings. scroll down to dual apps. top right hand side click on settings and delete dual apps. AA is now working.

Worked for me Mi6, don't just turn it off you need to delete all dual apps and accounts. It should reboot.
