Hello Mi Fans,
Just a few weeks into the New Year, Google has released its first Android Distribution report for the year 2018. This distribution chart shows where it's mobile platform stands and it looks like the numbers for Android Oreo and Android Nougat are growing steadily. The date was collected in the 7-day period ending January 8. the company says that 0.7 percent of all the Android devices that used the Play Store was running on Android Oreo.

This further breaks down to 0.5 percent running Android 8.0 and 0.2 percent running Android 8.1. Android Nougat 7.0 and 7.1 grew from last month as well, finishing at 26.3 percent usage in January. Android Marshmallow (6.0) witnessed a decline, finishing at 28.6 percent.

Android Lollipop 5.0 and 5.1 also saw a decline, finishing the month at 25.1 percent usage. Android KitKat and Android Jellybean fell to 12.8 percent and 5.6 percent respectively. While Android Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) and Android Gingerbread (2.3) held steady at 0.5 percent and 0.4 percent, respectively.

These numbers are proof that the use of Android Oreo and Nogat continues to grow, while other editions continue to slip. This is not surprising, because there are still very few devices with Android Oreo, and most of these are Google's own Pixel and Nexus devices.
