In a way of celebrating 10th year anniversary, Apple launched iPhone X with a major overhaul in design. Unlike its predecessor, the iPhone X features a full-glass design, which in turn offers wireless charging features, that can be supported by Qi charger systems. With this device, Apple also brings the Face ID ditching the Touch ID. It also comes with animated emojis feature, where you can create and share your facial expressions-based emojis with friends. In terms of specifications, the iPhone X comes packed with 5.8-inch (2436 x 1125) OLED Super Retina edge-to-edge display, powered by an A11 Bionic chip. On the optics front, the iPhone X has 12-megapixel dual rear cameras with dual optical image stabilization and 7MP front camera with retina flash. It is custom tuned for AR and also certified for water and dust resistant.

Google last year launched the second-gen Pixel smartphone this year with tons of updates in various departments. Dubbed as Google Pixel 2, it comes with a feature called Active Edge, where squeezing your phone will launch Google Assistant. The Pixel 2 comes with Aluminum unibody with a hybrid coating on top for good grip and comfort. In terms of specifications, the Pixel 2 is packed with 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display and powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform under the hood. Talking about the strength, the Pixel 2 comes with a 12.2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Dual Pixel technology. This technology helps the device to take portrait shots with background blurs, from both the front and back camera. It has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

After Galaxy Note7 fiasco, Samsung last year launched Galaxy Note8 with 18.5:9 aspect ratio Infinity display, Iris scanner, and Bixby assistant as well. Just like other Galaxy Note smartphones, it also comes with an improved S Pen stylus with finer tip, improved pressure sensitivity, and several new S Pen features. In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Note 8 comes packed with 6.3-inch Quad HD  Infinity Display, powered by an Octa-Core Samsung Exynos 9 Series 8895 processor with 6GB LPDDR4 RAM under the hood. It also has a 12MP Dual Pixel rear camera with LED Flash, f/1.7 aperture, wide-angle lens, and a secondary 12MP camera with telephoto lens and f/2.4 aperture. Moreover, on the front, it has 8MP autofocus front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture and wide angle lens. It is also water resistant up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes with IP68 ratings.
OnePlus 5T

Third party image referenceFive months after the launch of OnePlus 5, the China-based OnePlus has launched OnePlus 5T with 18:9 aspect ratio display, improved camera, and new facial recognition technology. Unlike its predecessor, it doesn't have any home button and the fingerprint scanner is moved back just accommodate more space for display. In terms of specifications, the OnePlus 5T is power packed with the 5.5-inch 1080p display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC under the hood. The company has made some changes in camera with a same 16MP primary rear camera with wide-angle lens and large f/1.7 aperture, but the telephoto lens has been swapped by the 20-megapixel sensor with a f/1.7 aperture for better low-light photography. The front side is taken care of the same 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture. It has 3.5mm audio jack and runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) with Oxygen OS 4.7, which will get Android 8.0 (Oreo) in early 2018.
