Global technology leader Xiaomi is set to host its first MIUI Partnership Day in Gurugram, India on 7 November 2017, as it seeks to work with developers in the country to further localize the MIUI user experience. This marks a significant step up in its commitment to the local market.

The event will enable developers to learn more about MIUI and explore potential collaborations in various aspects, which is aimed at making MIUI even better for global Mi Fans in the long run. It will cover topics about Xiaomi’s Internet services strategy including products and services, monetisation, the entire MIUI ecosystem and investments. Since its official entry into the local market three years ago, Xiaomi has been relentlessly investing in India to ensure a smooth user experience that is customized for Indian users. It has set up an R&D team to introduce localized features such as Copy OTP, Dual Apps, Second Space, Smart IRCTC ticket SMS, etc. In addition, MIUI supports 13 Indic languages. MIUI has now crossed over 280 million users across 142 countries and regions across the world.
In India, Xiaomi has sold 25 million smartphones in three years from July 2014 to August 2017. In particular, Redmi Note 4 sold more than five million units within six months of its launch. According to IDC’s Q2 2017 report, Redmi Note 4 became India’s highest shipped smartphone in a quarter in the history of Indian smartphone industry.
