Hello Mi Fans, The Android version distribution statistics tell us what Android versions are in use in terms of overall percentage of users. This can be helpful for application developers looking to see if supporting a certain API level is worthwhile for them. Said distribution numbers are updated monthly. After releasing their monthly security bulletin, Google has now also published the Android distribution statistics reflecting data collected up to October. The latest numbers finally show Android Oreo in the distribution statistics, though it’s only at 0.2% right now.

For the record, here’s how the number stacked up against last month:

In addition to Oreo finally being accounted for in Google’s Android Distribution numbers, Nougat has increased from being on 15.8 percent of devices on September’s distribution chart to 17.8 percent, the difference being that last month’s numbers showed 15.8 percent for both Android 7.0 and Android 7.1 collectively, whereas this month the 15.8 percent comes from Android 7.0 alone, with Android 7.1 accounting for 2 percent of the total amount of users.

Marshmallow still holds the most users with 32% of the Android market, with Lollipop trailing it with 27.7%. Nougat gained 2 percentage points in market share since last month, and now holds 17.8%. Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich are still around with 0.6% each. That number should continue to grow in the coming months as new devices launch with Oreo in tow and existing flagships are updated.
