[Q & A] Mi Mix 3 5G play store crashed a few times then it went off, now it won't turn on/charge.

I have had my Mi Mix 3 5g for a number of years. It was working absolutely fine until.. it started having a few 'google play has stopped responding' type errors popped up in a row, and then the phone went off.It now:no longer lights up when plugged in (i.e. no leds)can't be turned on (have tried leaving it plugged in for several hours then power switch, also leaving it unplugged several hours as well)can't get to fastboot/reset (power switch + volume up) or (power switch + volume down)Connecting it to the PC detects it as 'Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008' under ports (com3) in device manager.It was completly stock and no funky business had been done.I tried Xiaomi support, but they couldn't help. I asked for a repair quote but also havn't recevied one.Is the phone dead dead? why did it just stop? can it be fixed? A quick google suggests deep flashing (EDL mode) and stuff like that might be possible.. but it is a bit beyond me.
