Hi Mi Fans,
Now we gonna discuss about what is Sync and its purpose. So let's starts here!
What is Sync?
Sync is a file synchronization service from MIUI that provides over-the-air synchronization of Gmail, Gallery, Contacts, and other apps with PC and mobile device. Sync is a bidirectional service. Changes made on one device would be backed up to the user's Account. All other data on devices sharing that same account is automatically synchronized as well. In case a mobile device is lost, the data is still securely stored. The Sync provided seamless over-the-air synchronization for many purposes like backup & restore data.
How to enable Sync?
Step 1: Slide down the status bar, there you can find Sync icon . Tap to turn ON.
Step 2: Configure the settings, for this goto settings > Choose the 'Sync' option.
Step 3: Make your option for Syncing with Mobile data or WiFi. Use WiFi only option for disabling usage of mobile data for Syncing. Many had some experience of lossing mobile data for syncing. So make sure about the options.
Syncing with Mi Cloud
We can Sync your data safe with Mi Cloud. All you need is a Mi Phone & a Mi account. It will enable you to access the data/files from other devices which have been Synced with your last device before.
Syncing with Google apps
You can also Sync your data with Google apps like Gmail, Contacts, Drive, Chrome, Calendar, etc
It also keep your data safe your Google account. The Google apps will updates only when the Sync was enabled on your device.
When Sync doesn't work?
While you’re on battery saver mode, the Sync will be automatically disabled on your device. Because the Battery Saver mode will restrict all your background activities except system apps. And there is an option for disabling background activity restrictions for particular apps. You can custom your background restriction as given below.
Goto Settings > Battery > Choose Power option > Choose App battery saver > Choose your app from the app list > Select ‘No Restrictions’.
