Glad we're getting the update, but I have some feedback to share @happybuddhist
Control centre needs an option to choose which side of the screen it will pull notifications or the control centre. Having to reach for the left side to view notifications is a bit troublesome since this device is fairly big (for right hand users).
UI is still lacking smoothness, as many applications are. This seems to be due to the very aggressive memory manager. Applications will still close forcefully every now and again even if you set the battery manager to not do so. The entire phone performance could be increased by changing the memory manager to an option to be activated, instead of being automatically on for all applications. This is clear even in Google Discover, scrolling to the bottom news will unload the ones you've scrolled past, this causes several hiccups from the phone having to reload images.
The above fix can and will exponentially increase battery life. The hardware struggles to keep reloading images it loaded a second ago.
SD card MIUI Gallery files are still being created. They're not even "hidden" files.
The "pill" icon was definitely a "not needed" feature, it just uses screen when in Full screen mode, which is definitely the contrary to how the option should work.
Now, for non standard users:
Google Cert. is still not fixed on devices with unlocked bootloader. While this isn't a big deal, this issue should have been fixed many updates ago, due to this, an user without knowledge won't be able to properly take advantage from the PlayStore, nor use Netflix. The device fingerprint is already working with a locked bootloader, during flash (of any type), it just needs to set the device fingerprint back to original state. Another way to solve would be to add a "Fix" option like we have for Widevine, that would just fix the device fingerprint in build.prop.
