Today we are reviewing one such device called the "Mi Water TDS Tester". The TDS stands for Total dissolved solids that are generally found in water. TDS is any salt, mineral, or metal that is found in the water. The water that we receive for drinking passes through a filtration process and as a result, may contain dissolved solids. A large number of dissolved solids, more than 1000 mg/L in the water is not suitable for drinking and can be harmful to health.. What is a Water TDS Tester: A water TDS tester is generally used to test the quantity of TDS in your drinking water. If you are using a water purifier or filter at home, the TDS tester will help you to evaluate the quality of water it delivers and whether it needs some cleaning or maintenance. ![]() UNBOXING ![]() Front side of the Box showing the Tester picture along with highlighted features. ![]() The back side of the picture showing the Manufacture details and etc.. ![]() On sides, nothing is there except the "Mi Water TDS Tester" Naming. ![]() Here are the BOX contents. ![]() Here is the user manual ![]() On top of the tester you can see the "mi" logo. ![]() There is simple naming on the tester as above. ![]() Once you open the cap of the tester, there you can see the battery inserting place. ![]() Once you put-up the batteries it will lighen up like this Design ![]() The Mi Water TDS tester is a thermometer type device which is simple to use and very light-weight. having a minimalistic design. The device is all white in color and works on 2 x LR44 button cells (not included in the package). The Mi TDS Water tester can detect the TDS quantity of water in the range of 0-9990 ppm. The sensor of the device is anti-rust and anti-corrosive, also the device is IPX6 certified for water resistance. There is a monochrome LCD that displays the TDS reading. ![]() As you can see the 2xLR44 button cells above, You've to insert those batteries into the tester. so, that youcan use it. Testing To start using the Mi Water TDS tester, insert the two LR44 button cells in the device. Once done, press the TDS button on the device. The device should give a reading of ‘0’. Now insert the device in a glass of water for 3-5 seconds. The TDS reading will change and will be displayed on the LCD. ![]() ![]() We tested the Mi Water TDS tester on two sources of water. We filled two glasses of water, one with Borewell water or groundwater and the other with purified water from a home water purifier. The results were quite evident, the borewell water gave a reading of 288 mg/L and the purified water had a reading of 42 mg/L. Although the water in both the glasses is fit to consume, the one with a lower TDS value is more fit. Limitations: Let me tell you the limitation of this TDS Pen The maximum PPI value it can obtain is 999 PPI which is enough to determine 5 stages of water. It can detect:

My Impressions ![]() I've used this tester in my home and outide too and my view on this tester is really impressive. If you are simply concerned with checking the soluble impurities in the water and not the chlorine and bacterial content, Xiaomi Mi TDS Pen should be your first choice. Why? The trust of Xiaomi, great design 1-click operation, highly responsive, and a stupendously low price make it a quick sell out. So, this is for right now guys..! I hope you all are liked it..!
