Hei Mi fans,
Wassup everyone? Hope everyone is enthusiastic and energetic as ever. After fiddling around with the Redmi Note 9 Pro and getting comfortable with it, you might want to explore more like rooting or flashing other custom ROMs and explore the new frontier of your device. Hence, with the patched boot image you can attain that. So let's into it!
How to create Magisk-patched boot image
Magisk is known as a “systemless” root method. It’s essentially a way to modify the system without actually modifying it. Modifications are stored safely in the boot partition instead of modifying the real system files. This is the most important feature of this tool. Since the original system files remain unchanged, modifications can go undetected by Google SafetyNet. Magisk is an excellent tool for users who are interested in making the most of their Android device. At the same time you have root access giving flexibility over system files and settings. Today, I am going to share how to create a patched boot image with Magisk when TWRP custom recovery is not present or you don't need it. Amazing right?
Let's get started. Using Patched Boot Image allows you to easily receive OTA updates on your rooted Android device. To use this method, you are required to obtain a copy of the stock boot/recovery image, which can be found by extracting MIUI fastboot ROM or extracting from Recovery/OTA update zips for the current firmware installed on your Android device.
Download and install the latest Magisk Manager APK below:
Next, goto Settings - About phone - System update - tap the 3 dots, click Download latest package, then it will download the current ROM package you are using. Goto to the File Manager - Download folder where the ROM is located. Extract the ROM file and choose Extract here or from the link, as shown below:
Now, you have successfully patched the boot.img of your current ROM on your device. Next is to flash the Magisk_patched.img to gain Root on your device. To fastboot flash the Patched Boot Image checkout: Rooting Redmi Note 9 Pro With Magisk
That's all to it.
DISCLAIMER: DO AT YOUR OWN RISK. Flashing can potentially brick or bootloop your device.
