Which Xiaomi phones support cast screen function?

Almost all the Xiaomi phones running the MIUI system offer the miracast service. However, with the latest MIUI 11, you can enjoy the further optimized cast screen feature.

Where is the cast screen function on MIUI 11?

It’s very easy to find the screen function on MIUI 11. Just go to Settings - Connection & sharing - Cast. Then you can enable the screen functions here.

How to mirror your phone’s screen to TV with the cast screen function on MIUI 11?

Step 1. Before using the cast screen function, please check if your TV supports screen mirroring function (Miracast). To do this, just go to TV settings and find if there are any WiFi option available, or see if there is WiFi logo on TV box. Usually, almost all the smart TVs support screen mirroring function, including Xiaomi Mi TV, LG, Samsung smart TV, etc. If your TV is not smart TV, it needs chromecast dongle or similar device hooked up. If your TV supports screen mirror function, just continue following the steps below.

Step 2. Make sure your Xiaomi phone and smart TV have been connected to the same wireless network.

Step 3. Turn on the Bluetooth function on your phone.

Step 4. Enable the screen cast feature on your Xiaomi phone. To do this, just head to Settings - Connection & sharing - Cast. Tap the “Cast”, then it will pop up notifications of “Cancel” or “Turn on”. Click “Turn on”. Then your phone will starts searching for the available devices nearby.

Step 5. Select the TV name you want to mirror. Once they are successfully connected, your phone’s screen will be displayed on the TV. Meanwhile, a casting icon will appear on the upper left corner of your phone’s screen. Then you can start displaying your phone’s content on the TV.

In addition to the normal cast mode, there are also three other casting options: Minimize window, Cast with screen off, Hide private items. You can tap the casting icon on the upper left corner of your phone’s screen to set the casting mode.

How to mirror your phone’s screen to PC with the cast screen function on MIUI 11?

Step 1. Connect your Xiaomi phone and Window PC or laptop to the same wireless network.

Step 2. Click the "Start" button on the PC.

Step 3. Go to "Settings" - System - select "Projecting to this PC".

Step 4. Select "available everywhere" from the first dropdown.

Step 5. Enabling the cast screen feature on your Xiaomi phone via this path: Settings - Connection & sharing - Cast. Tap the “Cast”, then it will pop up notifications of “Cancel” or “Turn on”. Click “Turn on”. Then your phone will starts searching for the available devices nearby.

Step 6. Select the PC name you want to mirror. Once they are successfully connected, your phone’s screen will be displayed on the PC. Meanwhile, a casting icon will appear on the upper left corner of your phone’s screen. Then you can start displaying your phone’s content on the PC or laptop.
