Netflix has to also support the phone on their platform. the only supported ones for HDR are the K20/mi 9t line and mi 10 phones I believe

They only support it when company implement widevine L1 with HDR support but they just remove HDR support from widevine L1 implementation after android 10. They can make the device support HDR bit they think this is useless as people doesn't want this feature but its not true now every one uses Netflix so please Xiaomi needs to make this device HDR compatible

FYI: not EVERYONE uses Netflix nowadays, but many find it totally overrated and not worth the money. Just saying, mate...

Many aren't everyone, a tech, if tech is based on education, knows very that fact, mate :-). Netflix' paying accounts are crumbling, look st the numbers.

If your phone can play HDR Youtube videos, for example, then your phone is HDR capable. Netflix has their own whitelist system, you can have a fully compliant phone but in the end, it's them that decides which feature you can have, they're 3rd party app. If you want full Netflix compatibility, check their compatibility list. If you want to blindly buy a phone and expect full Netflix compatibility, buy a phone that is officially sold in US.

Actually the main problem here is that yesterday i talk with Netflix about this issue and they said that your manufacturer has to implement Widevine L1 with HDR which is fine on android 9 pie but after they fixed Netflix HD issue they simply removed HDR from widevine so how netflix can whitelist it when the requirements are not fulfilled so I am requesting you to give HDR support back and implement Widevine L1 with HDR.
