How are you all. I hope all are good. Today, i am going to discuss Wifi Band and Mi Router.
Wi-Fi is a family of wireless networking technologies, based on the IEEE 802.11 family of standards, which are commonly used for local area networking of devices and Internet access. Different versions of Wi-Fi exist, with different ranges, radio bands and speeds. Wi-Fi most commonly uses the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radio bands. In general, it boils downs to wireless range vs. speed. If you want better range, use 2.4 GHz. If you need higher performance or speed, the 5GHz band should be used.
The 5GHz band, which is the newer of the two, has the potential to cut through network clutter and interference to maximize network performance. It has more channels for communication, and usually there aren’t as many competing devices on the newer band. But by design, 5GHz can’t reach as far as the 2.4GHz. Newer routers have both, giving you a choice of which band to use.
The primary differences between the 2.4GHz and 5GHz signals are speed and range. Every router is designed to deliver a certain set of frequencies that you need to consider when deciding which WiFi band will best suit your needs. Below is a list of the different WiFi standards, frequencies, and theoretical distances and speeds. Remember, the speeds you get from your router may vary depending on the wireless internet service speed you currently pay for.
2.4 GHz Band
A 2.4GHz WiFi signal provides internet to a larger area but sacrifices speed. The 2.4 GHz band provides coverage at a longer range but transmits data at slower speeds.
The frequency range from 2.4 to 2.4835 GHz, which is unlicensed and used for many communications applications, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Microwave ovens also use this frequency.

5 GHz Band
The frequency range from 5.15 GHz to 5.85 GHz, which is unlicensed and used for many communications applications, including Wi-Fi and cordless phones. Commonly designated as "5G," after the turn of the century, 5G became widespread after version 802.11a debuted. The 5 GHz band is also used in the subsequent 11n, 11ac and 11ax versions of Wi-Fi. The 5GHz band provides faster speeds to a smaller area.The 5 GHz band provides less coverage but transmits data at faster speeds. The range is lower in the 5 GHz band because higher frequencies cannot penetrate solid objects, such as walls and floors. However, higher frequencies allow data to be transmitted faster than lower frequencies, so the 5 GHz band allows you to upload and download files faster.
