A group of researchers from UC Santa Barbara has developed a new way to identify people behind the walls using off-the-shelf Wi-Fi transceivers and analyzing their walking gait. The technique proposed by Yasamin Mostofi and her team is called XModal-ID (pronounced Cross-Modal-ID). It can identify if a person behind the wall is the same as the one in previously procured video footage by using merely WiFI signals.

Mozilla released Firefox 69.0.2 today; the stable channel update fixes two potential crashes in the web browser and fixes the detection of Parental Controls on Windows 10. The update is already available via the web browser's built-in automatic updating functionality. Firefox users should receive update notifications when they run the browser. Users who want to speed up the process -- it may take a bit of time before the browser runs the check for updates -- may run a manual check instead. To do that, select Menu Help About Firefox. The browser displays the installed version and runs an update check. The new version is either downloaded and installed automatically or manually depending on the browser's preferences.

Call of Duty: Mobile already seen 3 million installs according to market analyst Sensor Tower. This mobile version of the giant shooter franchise is the No. 1 free iOS app in the U.S. and 32 other markets. It is in the top five in 30 additional countries. In terms of revenue, the game is ranked No. 59 in the U.S. iPhone app store. This mobile take on Call of Duty includes classic multiplayer modes like Team Deathmatch and Domination. It also has its own battle royale mode.

Microsoft on Tuesday unveiled the Windows 10X operating system at its Surface event in New York. The new operating system is designed specifically for dual-screen foldable devices. It will debut on the products like the Surface Neo that was launched alongside Windows 10X, and also devices from brands like Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. Features on the new Windows 10X operating system include a brand new Start menu that is devoid of the Live Tiles seen on desktops with the latest software.

Instagram this week released Threads, a messaging app strictly for communicating with those on your Close Friends list. It’s a boon for those who use Instagram as their primary social media platform. When you first download and open the app, the first thing you’re gonna be asked is which account you which to use.
