On Friday, Xiaomi announced that it had shipped more than 100 million smartphones to India in five years. According to details shared by the company, Xiaomi reached such an important figure in the period from the third quarter of 2014 to July 2019, according to IDC 2019. Xiaomi claims that it is now the fastest brand to reach that level in five years of existence. The company claims that the Redmi A and Redmi Note series were the two most popular smartphone series in the country and significantly contributed to this feat.
According to IDC, Xiaomi is now one of the eight smartphone brands in India for eight consecutive quarters, with a 28-31 percent market share for Q2 2019. The Redmi 6A and Redmi Note 7 Pro were the first two top-selling smartphones in Q2 2019.
