Hey Mi Fans,

These days mobile apps have become a medium for expanding consumer reachability. Similar goes with the 'Health and Wellness' apps. Today, they cater to:
  • Suggesting medicines according to your systems
  • Teaching aids for doctors (e.g.: Touch Surgery which helps doctors in learning surgery skills)
  • Monitoring (weight, BP, sleep, calories etc.) apps

But the point arises:
  • Are they worth ?
  • How do we trust them ?

Finding Effectiveness Of An App

The effectiveness of an app can be judged by some of the following points:
  • Efficacy - Does the app do what it claims to do?
  • Privacy - The biggest concern from the public concerning health apps has been lack of privacy and data sharing
  • Usability - Is the app easy on the eyes and easy to use?
  • Health Care Capital - Will the app save patients money?
  • Innovation - Is the app innovative?

In a 2018 study done by Zebra Technologies, it was estimated that by the year 2022, 97 percent of hospital nurses, and 98 percent of hospital doctors will be using mobile devices in treating their patients.

These devices currently help nurses reduce errors in administering medication, aiding in specimen labeling, and reducing preventable medical errors.

Xiaomi & Healthcare

In a step to promote health, Xiaomi through its various crowdfundin sources, has brouht several devices that help encouraging us to stay fit. These are devices like Mi Body Composition Scale, Mi Bands, Xiaomi iHealth BP Monitor etc. It has app named Mi Fit which collects data from these devices and shows it to you on your smartphone.

So, do you use health apps and how ? Do mention below !

This is the newest gimmick. It won't actually solve anybody's addiction problem and if it tries forcing people off their apps it is likely to get shut off. If people really want to be off of their phones for their own health they just need to be off their phones. There used to be a wide world outside that people had to interact with before phones became smart. That world's still there. Put down your phone and get back to it.
