![]() A difficult choice, Mi 9 or Mi 9 SE? Hey, My Fans! Those who are looking for a flagship experience but have a tight budget will be delighted to know that Xiaomi has launched the Mi 9 SE in the UK. Like the Mi 9, Mi 9 SE keeps the great 48MP rear camera, the 20MP front camera and the fingerprint sensor on the screen. What is the difference in terms of performance and overall experience between Mi 9 and Mi 9 SE? We analyse this below. ![]() Camera The front camera is the same on both phones, with 20 MP and 8 μm large pixels. In addition, both the Mi 9 and the Mi 9 SE have a triple AI camera with a 48MP sensor in a camera on the back. On both devices, the other two cameras are telephoto (for long distance and close-up photos) and wide-angle lens, but the number of pixels actually varies between them: the Mi 9 telephoto sensor is 12MP while 8MP on the Mi 9 SE, and the wide-angle sensor is 16MP in the Mi 9 and 13MP for the SE. ![]() In general, phones should give similar results in most situations, with a bit of additional clarity on Mi 9 especially in the close-ups and wide angles. ![]() Mi 9 was the first phone to feature the ultra-powerful Qualcomm® Snapdragon ™ 855, but the Snapdragon ™ 712 in Mi 9 SE is also a high-performance processor with intelligent power management. ![]() Screen Although they coincide enough, the size and material of the screens of the phones are slightly different. The screen of Mi 9 SE is smaller with 5.79 ", compared to the Mi 9 screen of 6.39". ![]() The screens on both phones have a fingerprint sensor on the screen and a durable Corning® Gorilla® Glass, although the Mi 9 has the latest sixth-generation glass, while the Mi 9 SE has the fifth generation. Both generations of glass have the same scratch resistance, but Gorilla® Glass 6 has superior drop resistance. ![]() Battery and Charge The capacity of the battery is quite similar, with Mi 9 at 3300 mAh and Mi 9 SE at 3070 mAh. However, Mi 9 SE compensates for the slightly smaller battery with its processor that consumes less power. My 9 SE supports fast charging of 18W. However, the Mi 9 has an ultra-fast 27W cable load. My 9 also supports fast 20W wireless charging, the first device to feature it. In general, the Mi 9 has some additional benefits, it is, after all, the flagship. But Mi 9 SE is a close contender and also a solid alternative! What do you think of this new '' big boy ''? Leave your comments below, Mi Fans! |
