[MIUI Class Vol.1] How to Take a Screenshot on Your Mi Device?  by miuiermichael
You can customize it in Button and gesture shortcuts.  For example, if you want to swipe three fingers down to take a screenshot in Mi devices, you can go to Additional settings - Button and gesture shortcuts - Take a screenshot - Slide 3 fingers down. You can also select other choices such as Long press the Home button, Long press the Menue button, etc.

First, Open Settings from the home screen, then scrool down device section to find dual apps and finally toggle the app you want to clone. Once the app is cloned, you'll see two icons for that specific app on your home screen, with the cloned version featuring an indent that indicates it is the secondary app with its own data and settings. You can always return back to single instance anytime you want. It's easy, isn't it?

First go to ‘MIUI Version’  under ‘About Phone’ in settings, tap for several times. It will enable these options, and now you can see the ‘Developer Options’ in the additional settings. Scroll down and find the Window Animation Scale, Transition Animation Scale, and Animator Duration Scale. By default, all those were marked to 1x and so now you can reduce them to 0.5x. Or you can completely disable them by tapping on Off, but the display effect maybe reduced.

Open Dialer from home screens; Long press Menu Key to activate Call settings; Scroll down to Advanced Settings; Select dial pad tones and toggle On; Select Tones for menu and choose Piano Keys.

Open messaging application. Swipe down till half way from top. You might see background lock image indicating "You're unlocking the hide SMS option". You will be prompted to enter your device password, pattern or fingerprint.  On successful authorisation, you will be taken to a screen where you can setup for first use. Press "Private messaging settings". Add the contacts you want the messages from them to be hidden. You can also enable or disable the notification from contacts in the settings. That's it folks.

MIUI exclusive innovative feature designed to users to have cloned version or unique way of dressing their device with apps, files/folders, gallery, themes and so on. Users can sign in with different Mi Account or G Account within the second Space. With added data privacy and security fucntions, each space becomes unique in it's own way. One Device Two Spaces. Sometimes your files & apps take lots of memory to run. In both active or inactive condition, it occupies a huge amount of memory from internal storage and ram, for that your device takes more time to run, gets slower and sometimes even starts malfunctioning. Don't worry, we got that covered in MIUI! The basic theory behind Memory Optimization is: It compresses inactive files, after that it consumes less space. But compressed files needs time to execute so you should Turn It LOW OR OFF. If you turn it lower, you will find that your device will be faster than before. But if your device has enough ram, you may also close it to make it run much faster.

When you tap certain items in Android, your phone will vibrate just a bit, giving you a little feedback to let you know the thing you want to do. This option has its own advantage, but it comes at the cost of device battery life. However, this can be remedied by being disabled completely.Mi-Cloud is nothing but a cloud service to its privileged customers as an option to backup their data on the internet to "Manage your data and devices anytime, anywhere". Since synchronizing data between device and web servers works constantly in background, you can manage its consumption of battery by disabling it.

One of the freedoms Android users enjoy is being able to switch up the default options used for core apps like the browser, redirected messaging. Suppose, you wanna open a link from QQ App to the browser app, normally it will be redirected to default browser app. But now you want to open any link from QQ App to a specific Browser like Google Chrome. In that case, you have to change the default browser app from the Default App settings. In MIUI 9, the way to change the default apps is very easy. So, Let's know the method.

If I'm to explain Caller ID in once statement, I would put it as plain test stating "an awesome MIUI feature designed to identify SMS messages received and classify them based on visual tags to make plain text look visually better".  The term "Caller" may be in use to cater broader spectrum as-in to accommodate all the incoming under one banner.  Now by "tag's typical means to classify the text messages from the sender and usually provided by users or network partners. To illustrate message from "Banks", service providers such as "Telecom" or ecommerce sites such as "Amazon", "Flipkart" and even more. No, this is not fancy feature by a critical module to help navigate to the text making it easily recognizable.

[MIUI Class Vol. 31] How to Test Internet Speed on Your Smartphone?  by
nickajay
There might be some situations where you want to check whether it is a network problem or the web link or some apps specific issue.  And you have to download a third-party tool to check the issue. However, what you may not know is that this feature is built in MIUI Security. So without wasting any time, let's see how it work and how to use it.

One of the smart investment I strongly believe in is investing in the smart device which eases our way of life. Not the otherwise around. Say, Your device storage is getting filled with things you simply feel you do not have control as you feel the apps are required and so are the items in the gallery and much more reasons. While non-MIUI was researching on possible options get this remediated, I on the other hand and so are millions of MIUI users have not worried since the dawn of MIUI intelligent Security App. The houses a lot of feature rich options. One of the features we are referring today is “Deep Clean”.

Are You worried about the notification from Chat app? Don't you receive instant notification in MIUI from Chat Apps like other UI? Let me explain why and how to solve this. In MIUI, apps are not running in the background after each reboot unless we don't allow them. Though it a really good option for MIUI, but the user who is new in MIUI, don't know about these. While other UI, we need a separate app to control background apps or apps which will be auto start after reboot. But in MIUI, our dev team added it as a default feature. Don't wanna miss a single notification from specific apps? Simply add those apps to Autostart list which will reduce your worrying of important notification.

Internet Speed Meter is one of the excellent features of MIUI. Where in other UI, one need to download third party speed meter to check their internet speed. Our Mi Fans who are new in MIUI, they might be don't know about this feature and the way to use it.So let them know how to show Internet connection speed in status bar without installing a third-party app.

Q. How to Cool Your Device CPU to Make it Run Faster?
A: Settings>Installed apps>identify the 3rd party app which runs in the background, scroll down to option Battery Saver and set the preferred choice. Unless your app needs your undivided attention, I prefer to set it to “Restrict Background activity”.

Force 4x MSAA option under developer tools is used for better gaming performance. Enabling Force 4x MSAA improves the quality of graphics in games and OpenGL ES 2.0 applications. Though it requires more processing power and consumes battery more quickly if you can keep pace with that, you can enable Force 4x MSAA to enjoy smoother and less-laggy graphics
