it's the same like Xiaomi did to Redmi 3 Series, 5 variant with different specs, but almost same appearance.

In my opinion, it is likely that with the same model phone but with different specs will certainly create confusion to consumers.
Probably in the end, only those with the lower specs will be left on the shelves.

For example if the same model phone, one comes with eMMC 5.1 and another with UFS 2.0 or 2.1, price of phone is the same, what wiould be the consumers retaliation if they happen to get the lower version paying the same price?

Naturally, the consumers reaction will definitely be disappointed and felt being cheated, eventually I believe the phone model brand image would also be tarnished.
This normally would happen if the manufacturers encounter short of stock situation, and they will just substitute with whatever available, usually a lower version in order to overcome the demand supply.

Hopefully, we as consumers will not ecounter this type of unpleasant situation.

Back to the user itself, but the producer must be transparent in this case in price, description model and warranty. Too many vendors or manufacturers are dishonest or transparent in this case

if it is minimal difference then i m ok, but if there is significant difference then it is unfair to customers who are paying same price but getting lower end components or hardware
