![]() Hello MIUIers, Besides Xiaomi Mi 6, many new high-end smartphones have been recently announced: Samsung, LG, Huawei, sony, HTC, and others. Many of them bring all new design, and hardware: full processors, faster memories, better cameras, etc. That's, more or less, the same story for every smartphone announcement. By the way, new features and characteristics often don't depend only on technological development, but also on some "market needs". Some manufacturers, not rarely, decide to introduce their products in many markets, with few differences. Samsung, in example, used both snapdragon and exynos processors galaxy s6 and s7; lg implemented a dac or wireless charge in the new g6; many others did or do similar things, depending on the markets. But, sometimes, the differences concern other elements like memories used for the storage of files. In that particular case, Huawei would have used different memory chips for the latest p10 and p10 plus. Specifically, three types: eMMC 5.1, UFS 2.0 or 2.1; also two types of ram, lpddr3 or lpddr4. Causing different read speeds of data, from 300 to 700 MBps. ![]() Source Huawei decided to answer with an official statement: "To meet global demand of millions of units, Huawei has employed the standard industry practice of sourcing solutions from multiple trusted suppliers to ensure a balance between user experience, quality, and sustainable supply. Relying on a single component supply can lead to a shortage, meaning delays for consumers who wish to buy our new products. In the case of flash memory, in this instance, Huawei has chosen multiple simultaneous mainstream solution suppliers." And talking about components performances: "Huawei is and always has been, above all, committed to providing an extraordinary user experience. The performance of a single component can’t exactly reflect the overall system performance of a smartphone and these scores are not applicable in actual use scenarios."
