Now here is a drone that is rather unique in its own right. The Carbon Flyer hails from Trident Design, where this flying drone will be an ultralight airplane which will fly about using its own power source, and will be controlled through Bluetooth instead of a RF remote, where there will also be an integrated camera in the Carbon Flyer itself that will stream whatever it “sees” during the flight to your connected smartphone, giving you a real time view of what is happening from above.
So far, the Carbon Flyer remains as an Indiegogo project, where early bird units are said to cost $89 if you are interested. The entire body of the Carbon Flyer happens to be made out of carbon fiber, hence its name, and it boasts of a design which will enable the drone to remain rough and tough even when it crash lands, which is quite unlike some of the other more fragile drones that will break upon landing in an awkward manner.
The use of carbon fiber alongside nantotube epoxy will surely play a role in the overall sturdiness of the drone. Do you think that the use of carbon fiber will increase among drones that will roll out in the near future?
