Hello Mi 9 & Mi MIX 3 5G users,
We are overwhelmed to announce that Mi MIX 3 5G & Mi 9 are getting the Android Q Beta. The Android Q Beta provides you all the features needed to improve the compatibility and development of your application for the next version of the Android.

Android Q is official
Android Q is the upcoming version of Google’s mobile operating system, which comes with many new features for developers and users:
●Dark Theme: One of the most requested features, Android Q now has a system-wide Dark Theme. Activate Dark Theme in Settings, or by turning on Battery Saver. Dark Theme also helps save battery.
●Gesture Navigation: Introducing a new gesture-based navigation so you can fluidly move between tasks, and maximize the use of larger, edge to edge glass screens.
●Suggested actions in notifications: You can now take action on messages with suggested actions in notification.
●Prioritized notifications: With Android Q, you can choose whether an app’s notifications are interruptive or gentle. Interruptive notifications will make noise, vibrate, and appear on your lock screen, whereas gentle ones will not. Android Q also introduces algorithms to automatically determine whether notifications should be interruptive.

Android Q offers stronger protections for user privacy, new ways to engage users, Vulkan extensions, and more! Developers and users who wish to learn more about the Android Q Beta can visit: https://developer.android.com/preview

At present, Mi MIX 3 5G and Mi 9 are in the Android Q Beta program, which is free for developers to use. Simply download the preview tool and you will be able to use it immediately. Of course, this is only a Beta version so theoretically we could find many bugs, but as the beta versions progress, the number of errors should decrease until the final version is released.

To download or opt-in to the developer-preview:
1. Please do not forget to backup your data before upgrading to Android Q.
2. Please download the Q Beta build for for Mi MIX 3 5G & Mi 9.
3. Please opt-in to the Q build via the fastboot method.
