[MIUI 12 Feature Review #4] Ultra Battery-saver Mode Walkthrough - General - Xiaomi Community

Greetings MIUIers & Mi fans,

Super excited to meet you all again. Hope you are safe & healthy. MIUI 12 was launched globally few weeks ago with bunch of new features that raised eye-brows. MIUI is always known for the best in class battery management. With different level of battery usage restrictions & battery saver options we were able to hit higher screen-on-time. MIUI 12 bring you Ultra Battery Saver mode. Ultra battery saver mode takes the battery usage & standby to the next level. Join me as i walk you through.

Turning on, Ultra battery saver mode restricts all kind of background activity & only 6 non-essential apps are allowed to be used as per the user's choice. This leaves basic functions like Call, SMS & network usage available. As per system calculations, with minimum possible usage, the Ultra battery saver will increase the device standby time upto 25 times* than ordinary mode. Example, say if your device battery is estimated to last 10hrs in ordinary mode, Ultra battery saver mode will increase it upto 250hrs*.

Guide:

Method 1: Go to security app - Battery - Turn on 'Ultra Battery Saver' mode

Method 2: Swipe down Control center - Click 'Ultra battery saver' icon. There is a cool animation when battery saver is turned on
[Note: If control center doesn't have Ultra Battery saver icon by default, you can edit the list of icons to be displayed in control center]

I use Ultra Battery saver mode during commute & nights to save the juice as much as possible during idle time.

[* Battery time remaining depends completely on usage. Usage time & remaining hours are indirectly proportional

You can add upto 6 apps other than Default Phone, Contacts & message app

So it turns on a black skin and restricts background apps? That's it? Does it underclock the CPU, GPU? If not then it seems as useless as "Extreme Battery Saver".
