I am from Pakistan and today I contacted the warranty providers (3rd party). They simply refused to do anything since they are not aware of any issue and I neither had the box, purchase receipt and warranty card.
I emailed Xiaomi global and informed them about the situation and they told me to go another service centre which knew about the problem. They took my phone and gave me receipt.
So long story short, anyone who says Xiaomi doesn't exist in their country or whatever. Email Xiaomi global and they will solve your problem.
