launching the Mi 10 5G, Mi 10 Pro 5G and Mi 10 Ultra, Xiaomi unveiled the T series with the Mi 10T 5G, Mi 10T Lite and the latest arrival in our office - the Mi 10T Pro 5G.
![]() Technically, Xiaomi's T models are a more affordable variant of the Mi 10 models, but another way of looking at them would be as performance focused, while the non-T models are more camera centric. The Mi 10 Pro has the same main 108MP flagship camera but with laser autofocus assistance, two telephoto cameras to the Mi 10T Pro's none, and a superior ultrawide snapper with focusing to the Mi 10T Pro's fixed focus one. ![]() But the Mi 10T Pro offers a super smooth 144Hz display to the Mi 10 Pro's 90Hz one, has faster storage and a beefier battery. Here's a quick video we compiled going through the key features of the phone. Now let's look at what's in the box. The Mi 10T Pro comes with a 33W charger, USB cable, USB to 3.5mm dongle and a case with a catching design. ![]() Xiaomi went with an IPS LCD for its Mi 10T and Mi 10T Pro, which has enabled 144Hz refresh rate, a first on any Xiaomi smartphone. So far the fastest Xiaomi screen was the Black Shark 3S' 120Hz display. Most people won't notice a smoothness difference going from 120Hz to 144Hz, but will definitely notice it coming from 60Hz or 90Hz. The visual quality of the 6.67-inch panel is superb. It's very bright and offers excellent contrast. The panel is also flat, unlike the curved display of the Mi 10 Pro, which might be to the liking of some. ![]() The Snapdragon 865 in conjunction with the 144Hz display makes for lightning fast operation. We did notice one weird stutter, though - going to the leftmost Google Feed screen almost always results in a slight lag. The Mi 10T Pro comes with MIUI 12.0.5 preinstalled, which includes the new iOS-esque Control center, which is accessible by swiping on the top right of the screen. A swipe on the top left brings down the notification area. The Mi 10 Pro with MIUI 12.0.1 doesn't yet have this feature. Finally the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro brings a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, but no wireless charging. We expect great battery life from the Mi 10T Pro as it dynamically adjust the screen refresh rate, depending on what you're looking at - 48Hz for a movie, 60Hz for a regular video, 90Hz, 120Hz or 144Hz during gaming. |
