Is it the earpiece or the loudspeaker? A few users have reported a bug with the earpiece while on a call - a reboot usually helps. But if it's your normal loudspeaker, then kindly get it checked at your nearest service center. The above said issue is already reported and hopefully will be fixed in the next update.

Cheers! :-)

This is ridiculous.  I have a Redmi Note 9 Pro.  The calls go silent - I can't hear, but the other party can hear.   Telephone calling is the MOST BASIC FUNCTION of a phone.   The device is simply not up to standard.   Please advise WHEN and HOW a fix is coming, otherwise I will return this phone and go back to Samsung.

Hello......im curious did this happen after an update?  Was the phone working fine with the original Os version it was shipped with?

If was working fine with original Os, try rolling back to original Os, this may require flashing the phone via PC. This wont void warranty. If it works then it will be odd that those updates are still pushed to phones if they are causing this software conflict. In saying that some say tapping the back of the earpiece area restores sound which would mean hardware issues.

Nope, brand new phone started doing it the day I started using it a few weeks ago.   Our country distributor wants me to send it back but it took me an entire day to set it up and I don't have another working phone.  I am very, very disappointed.   Sometimes a call is fine for a minute, sometimes for 5 minutes.  Then it goes silent, I cannot hear the other person, but they can hear me.

I haven't tried switching to speaker yet, but in any case that is not a proper solution.    I cannot possibly make all my phone calls on loudspeaker - ludicrous.

My phone earpiece doesn't work even after restart. Back when i bought, it worked normally. After the update facing this issue. My mobile is Redmi note 9(3 months old). Currently using MIUI 12.0.5.0(QJOINXM). Is it a software bug or hardware issue?

Hi. Since yesterday, the ear speaker in my RN9P has stopped working.  Restoring the factory settings did not help. When will the problem be solved?
