[Q&A] System Launcher was updated today on my 7A and phone is now unusuable

I just updated System Launcher on my 7A and now keep getting a notification box over the home screen "System launcher keeps stopping. Send a bug report to Mi for analysis?" with two options... Cancel or Send Report. When I select either, the screen goes black then comes back to the home screen and very slowly loads the app icons, then the notification box pops up again and won't continue past the notification. I've turned the phone off and back on, did a reboot, and no matter what I do, this notification keeps popping up and I can't even do a bug report. One thing I'm able to do is open Settings by immediately tapping on the Settings icon before the notification box pops up. Strange. Any ideas how I can get my phone operating normally again?

Thanks Tom. Uninstalling the launcher update has me up and running again. The update moved my app icons all over the place and changed the home screen settings, so will have to redo that. Even though everything is backed up, I'm sure glad I didn't do a factory reset and have to restore all the apps and data. You saved the day, which is why you're a super moderator. :)

Are you refering to the same system launcher update (not the MIUI 10 update)?

Which 7A version do you have? Mine is global made in India. I've heard that the India-made version isn't updatable, and after this experience, it may be true. ??

Just updated my Indian version 7A to MIUI 11 and everything is performing just fine, as well as restored connectivity to a consistent 5 bars. But after my first experience with updating System Launcher bricking my phone, I'm staying away from it!
