I recently purchased a Mi Mix 3 5G on mi.com.

I switched to an EE 5G plan but my Mi Mix 3 5G doesn't seem to be able to pick up any 5G signal at all.

Any ideas? EE says I don't need a new SIM card

Did you check you had the right APNs?

Yes. It just won't pick up any 5g signal at all when I look for networks. It works fine on 4G+. I am in Belfast city centre which has 5G coverage so that's not the issue

Did you  ask your network, seems some block access unless you have bought the phone on contract with them?

Hi yes. EE says it should be ok to connect but no 5g signal from any provider is picked up. will return the phone

There seems to be an isdue where some of the phones on EU rom get blocked, but the ones on global do not. It's quarter to three, so not geared up to research, but I might take a further look if you don't take the decision to return straight away, as after all it's a lot of bang for the buck, assuming you bought it on the MFF promotion.

I got it on the MFF promotion for £230 for the 128gb version. although I swapped to a 5g tariff so if I can't get it to work I'll return it won't be paying extra to connect to a 5g network on a phone that won't connect to 5g networks. Xiaomi support has been so far awful too

Get a Three 5G SIM as all plans on their network support 5G and they Deffo support your phone as they actually sell it in their shops.
