How do we do it effectively? ![]() Activating Additional Update features To get additional features on the Update menu, to use Choose update package, Reboot to Recovery mode and knowing the Changelog.
![]() Download latest package This option is downloading the latest firmware that it’s already running on your phone, should you want to keep especially for new phone. It won't erase your files on the phone.
![]() Choose update package This is for those who have downloaded, a Recovery Rom (ZIP) from the ROM thread or elsewhere. Download the Recovery ROM for your region, place it in your root directory.
![]() Customize your Update settings You can customize how you want to download via WiFi or mobile data, install update automatically, to Receive Updates early and Add Home screen shortcut for ease access from your Home screen.
![]() Reboot to Recovery mode The options give you options to Reboot system which will restart the device normally. To Wipe Data is to do a factory reset: This will wipe all of your data like photos, videos, music, apps, everything and return your phone to its original factory condition. With Factory Reset Protection (FRP) turned on by default you will be prompted to enter your Mi Account username and password to perform a factory reset. ![]() Quick Fix for "Can't download" updating issue Many users who are have locked bootloader and very much rely on the updater to update their phone or users who have unlocked bootloader on a rooted device might experience this issue. ![]() Solution to Can't download issue The update is available yet after the ROM ZIP has been downloaded yet after the server verification bit failed to update the downloaded zip, instead give an error of "Can't download" Something went wrong. Wait a minute or two and try again.
