Hi my brand new xiaomi redmi 7 has a problem where every few minutes my phone will open apps and stuff in apps by itself plus the settings and further into settings, I have tried everything I can to fix it and reset 2 or 3 times and nothing has worked, I think I will just get a new phone from a different company since this is my first xiaomi phone and I'm not fully impressed, if anyone knows a permanent fix then please let me know. Thanks.

Try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spencerstudios.screentest or similar app. I think you have a problem with your touchscreen

hi since it's a problem with apps opening up by itself I can't really add screen shots but what I can tell you all is any app opens up its not just the apps that came on the phone out of the box, downloaded apps have the same issue and I tried that app for screen testing and I'm so sure with the color test it drew a while line by itself, I hope it's only a software issue because I don't really want to buy another phone.

1. stop with the "one faulty product I bought from some company means that the whole company makes shit products". Yes, maybe you got a bad phone, but thats what one bad phone out of million (get my point, right?).
2. try to return it. if it happened by itself (you didnt drop the phone, and then these ghost touches started appearing), then you probably have a warranty or something
3. last option, if you are more experienced, you could try to repair it yourself (buy a new digitizer, replace it)
4. maybe (very unlikely), stop with the factory resets and try to flash a stock rom from the internet. If its a sw issue and you keep factory resetting and it doesnt help, maybe the rom you have installed is faulty (but thats assuming that its a sw issue, which it probably isnt)

ok thanks for the help, I actually like xiaomi and have heard spot of good things but I have had a year of shit technical problems that I'm just sick to death of lol and I already tried to return it but the company I bought it from has to send it off for assessment to try and fix it but it would take about 2 weeks for the whole procedure which would mean I wouldn't have a phone to use which I need for work as well  as everyday life which is something I can't do, I have not dropped or done anything to damage it at all, I might try to flash the stock room off of the internet and if it's not that then I will replace the digitizer and hopefully it will be fixed.

This is very sad. My experience with REdmi 7 is also being terrible. My phone has been updated to a broken version and there is no support response. My first and last Xiaomi phone.

yeah I hope all the issues can be fixed, I'm switching to my Nokia X6 soon anyway but I hope for everyone with issues they all get ironed out since it should not be ignored, I can't put the company at fault to much though since maybe it's just a isolated issue with just a few batches of phones which is something every company faces at some point but if it's all software related and not hardware then I don't see why there has been a few updates with no fix at all...it's irritating but I have pretty much learned to live with my issue since I'm switching back to my Nokia sometime soon but for people who can't use another phone I hope everything does get resolved and soon.

Since the last global firmware (10.3.4.0) I have the same problem. Is there no solution?
