[Discussion] password after 72 hours of non-use

The 72 hours is a security thing. Trust me, you do NOT want to forget your PIN, that is rather painful to remedy, and if it only asked on reboots, you'd get loads of people forgetting the stuff. And the ok thing is because there are tricks to guess a pin, if you have to validate it, it adds one layer to the complexity.

The fingerprint sensor, in any phone, is about as secure as leaving your wallet on a coffee table in a station at rush hour. It is fine for day to day usage, but frankly to someone in the know (and that takes 10 minutes on youtube to learn), it's crackable. So definitely not something you want to rely on for core things (one of the reasons why it will ask you the pin if you change permissions on sensitive settings.)

ok.........but before 3.4.0 when i write pin, the phone checks automatically if it is correct and  ...

As I said, it's an extra layer of security, as an automatically validating pin is easier to guess than one that is user validated.
