[Discussion] PLEASE HELP!! Unable to Unlock Bootloader

I tried to follow the steps here: http://en.miui.com/thread-410945-1-1.html to no avail. I have tried both the miflash_unlock_en_3.3.827.31 and the miflash_unlock-en-3.3.525.23. The only difference is the error message. The most recent version throws the error message ""Account application area query failed" while the older version gives me "Couldn't get info [-1: Unknown error]". I hope somebody from Xiaomi sees this because I've scoured the internet and have not seen a single solution that works or that gives an idea what is causing the error. I am using a Pocophone f1 running 10.3.4. The reason I want to unlock my phone's bootloader is so I can try a different ROM or kernel that can help me solve the ghost touch/lags that I am experiencing with my phone.

1. Have you binded your account?
2. Are the drivers properly installed?
3. Did you wait for 72 hours?
4. Are you using an AMD based system?

Yes sir, I am signed into my Mi account on my phone, I've also gone to Developer OptionsMi Unlock status and have added the account and device there. Drivers are installed and it has also been more than 72 hours since the request to unlock. Thanks for the reply.

1. Are you using an AMD based system? Unlock tool won't work with AMD systems - use a Windows PC.
2. Are you connecting using USB 3.0 port? If then, try USB 2.0 - it has issues with USB 3.0

I would suggest you to reinstall all drivers once again and try. You can download the drivers and also find instructions here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/how-to/xiaomi-poco-f1-unlock-bootloader-custom-t3839405
(use a browser to open this thread - Mi Community app has issues showing links.)

I've been working on a laptop running Windows 10 64 bit on an Intel i5 system. I also tried multiple USB ports. I get the error right after the splash window in the Mi unlock tool that says Checking if your Mi account has permissions. I doesn't even get to the part where it looks for a connected phone. Thanks again!

Do you have an active sim card in your device? Also, I would suggest you to try a different version of the Unlock tool. Most users would suggest 525 version, but I think it doesn't work you, right? Try any other version; newer or older. Also, reinstall drivers as suggested.

I'll see if any known solution is available for the errors that you are facing. Will update you if I find one.

Cheers! :-)

Thank you very much for your replies. Yes I actually have 2 active sim cards on my device and one of them is the one I use for my Mi account. I'll reinstall the drivers and see if that works. Thanks again!
