C'mon be real!! Just admit the bug as this also all over MIUI Chinese forum!!!

I also though the Mi Pad 4 was a good tablet for my Kid so I bought one for his birthday, but after initial setting up Google Services I found out Family link is not able to finish the setup process and I can't control the device on family Link :( unlike an old Nexus 5 he also uses)
Now I'm in the waiting period of 720hours (one month !?) to unlock boot loader in order to install Mi Pad 4 EU Rom just to test if it's playing nice with family link... All this hassle wouldn't be needed if family link was working fine in first place.

Apparently there's missing element in the Settings.apk that needed by Family Link's setup to complete...

Side by side + step by step setup comparison with my other samsung tab shows it calls out some [add admin] page from Settings which is non-existent on this MIUI...

So: when we press on [GOT IT], it just stuck there with the same prompt and a blink....

Yep, I get to that same state and I also tried to go to settings and add permissions to all Google services/apps/family-link related, as well as device admin, but still can't get past that message "Now you'll activate Family Link manager..." with the "got-it" button.

It's different from that admin page, it specifically calling an admin page that correspond to profile manager...
Funily enough xiaomi.eu ROM got it working right (some ppl said) + xposed working....

But I don't wanna flash xiaomi.eu as it's only got beta build (weekly)....

That's good news, if you say xiaomi.eu ROM does play nice with family link, at least there is a workaround for this problem. Now I'm stuck waiting for xiaomi permission to unlock my bootloader in order to fix this problem, lets hope the ROM is not very unstable.
PS: I'm new to xiaomi ROMs and I find it strange that the version number in xiaomi.eu ROM's (8.x) is lower than the official Chinese ROM (9.x).

the problem is, we dunno what xiaomi.eu does to fix the problem....

it's normal since you're using stable build (head of version number matches the MIUI ver)...
xiaomi.eu's ROM based on beta build which the version number is the build date of the ROM sans the 201.

so take example: 8.10.15 meaning the ROM is build on year 2018 (8). month October (10). date 15th (15)
