[Announcement] Solution for Noisy Fan!

Hello everyone

I bought on 11.11 a xiaomi air 13 2017 model and it was noisy so i tried all the Options too fix it but nothing worked 100%  so they did replace it for me after that .
And i got now a new one which had again the same Problem with the fan
So i got my self a fan control Software and wrote a  complete Fan Configuration for the xiaomi air 13! It took alot of time  and effort but it Works Perfectly now! I am so happy now with the ultrabook,

Ps. Some tried to change the fan and got a new fan, i dont know if this works i have not tired it

Could you please elaborate on the fan control software you used and the custom fan config?

Our problem with the Pro version is that we can only control the left fan for some reason.

Hi.
In this thread you find a working fan profile for the Air 13.3 fingerprint 2017 version that could be customized for any individual needs.

I turned the small fan off, because it was making a grinding sound, and configured the large fan speeds to my like.
It is working much better now.

EDIT:
I tried to fix the fan noise with the procedure showed in this video:

It worked, and the loud noise stopped. Now, some times (rarely) the small fan goes to full rpm but Notebook Fancontrol shows it like at 0% speed, so it has some kind of malfunction, but without the horrible noise that it produced before.
Just a important note. I understand that it is not correct to disassemble the cpu cooler and reassenble without repasting it, so I cleaned the cpu and gpu original thermal paste and reaplyed a new one before reassembling.

I ordered on Aliexpress new fans for about 19 USD. The original fan in my Air 13.3 is manufactured by FCN, let`s see what fan brand I will receive.
In my country, international orders deliver waiting time is about 2 to 3 months. As soon as I receive the fans I will post here.

Two weeks ago I received the new fans. They are exactly like the original ones. I replaced the fans, and to be on the safe side, used the procedure described in the video linked in my last post. The new fans worked flawlessly since than.

I dismantled the original fans to try to lubricate then. I don't recommend it, as the amount of force to take the blades off was large enough to cause damage. I only do that because I mounted the new fans and they are working ok.

I bought the new fans from 2 different AliExpress vendors, just to make sure I could obtain a good one. Both received fans where original ones.

After a long journey my 2017 fingerprint air 13.3 is working 100% ok.

Today I will receive a Kingston A1000 nvme 1tb ssd. With this last upgrade the air will become ready to my every day tasks with it.

Update on the Kingston A1000 nvme ssd.
It didn't work on the Mi 13.3.
The bios didn't recognize the ssd. I will have to mantain the original Samsung 250gb nvme ssd, and use a sata ssd on the second m.2 interface.
The journey to a "perfect" setup with the air 13.3 continue.

The real problem with this notebook imho is why should the CPU fan kick on at less then 20% CPU load, even for 5 sec cpu loads?

How much heat can be generated when CPU is working for 3 sec at 25%, that the fan would need to come in? It's ridiculous, something need to be fixed at the logic level, not at hardware one.

Only a firmware/bios update/tweak can really fix this. I don't want the CPU fan to spin unless the CPU is working consistently at a certain temperature, this is the only reasonable fix I see.
