Hello Mi Fans!
Every smartphone camera is different, but they all have the same things in common. They all have a lens, which enables them to see things. A sensor which takes what the lens sees and turns it into digital data and they all have a software for processing data from the sensors and an LED flashlight for taking better photos under low light. It helps to focus, it helps in illuminating the subject in the dark and if we don’t use a flash, it will be impossible for us to click a picture in the dark. Today we are going to see which type of LED flash is best for smartphone photography.
Types of LED flash
LED is the most commonly used flashlights in the smartphone. It is energy efficient than the previous generation Xenon flash. They're also quite small which makes them ideal for smartphones where thinner is always better. They can be easily installed without creating any additional bulk to their carefully-engineered design. However, there are downsides to an LED flash. Although it doesn't feel that way when you accidentally stare at one, LEDs are quite dim compared to other flash technology. That also means they cover only a small area when they're fired off while taking photographs. The photos taken using flash will be hit or miss because it may cause over exposed pictures. An LED flash is generally like a torch for the camera which helps it see better in the dark. Soft LED Flash are used in Front flash to get beautiful selfies even in the low light and indoor situation.
Dual LED emits light twice than the normal LED at the same it consumes more power energy. It includes both white and amber (yellowish) LEDs in order to improve the white balance and add support for more numerous color temperatures. They are not designed to give off more light but to color correct the ambient light in the room for more accurate flash tones. Each LED can be lit with a varying intensity. These flashlights adjust the warmth of the picture according to the requirement hence reducing the chance of getting a over exposed or washed out image. Dual LEDs make a dramatic difference in low light situations and will definitely improve your photos if you get up close and personal with the subject. You can use the same mechanism used for calculating the automatic white balance and then combine the two light sources to have something that approximate the color temperature of the scene. You can find dual LED in many Xiaomi devices like Mi A1, Mi Mix 2 and many more devices.
