China Quality Association official website announced that the China Quality Association Council elected Xiaomi founder, chairman and CEO Lei Jun officially to serve as vice president of China Quality Association.



Xiaomi has been mentioned with a slogan: "Telescope to see innovation, using a microscope to see the quality". Earlier Lei Jun was awarded the State Administration of Quality Supervision, won '2017 Quality People Award' and was also elected as one of the "Top Ten Economic People of the Year in 2017" at Top Ten Annual Character Awards Ceremony.

Kantar Millward Brown, WPP and Google have published the 2018 BrandZ™ Top 50 Chinese Global Brand Builders ranking and report. The report identifies and ranks Chinese brands based on the strength of their brand overseas. It also reveals challenges and opportunities and provides vital insights and recommendations for Chinese brands going global.



Brands across 12 product categories are ranked based on their Brand Power Scores in seven developed markets, including France, Germany, Spain, the UK, the US, Australia, and Japan. Xiaomi Ranked 4th In BrandZ ™ Top 50 Chinese Global Brand Builders 2018 with 757 points over other Chinese companies such as Haier and ZTE.

3. Xiaomi Targets To Become #1 in China’s smartphone market in 10 quarters

After a solid sales result in 2017, Xiaomi's founder and CEO Lei Jun has set a even higher target for the company. Xiaomi aims to regain the number one position in China within 10 quarters. To achieve this goal, Xiaomi will not miss any corner in the territory, and will concentrate on provinces, cities, as well as counties and villages in China, said Lei, according to a Sina news report.



Xiaomi's smartphone shipments picked up notably from the second quarter last year, and the company achieved the sales target of 100 billion yuan by October, said its founder. Lei's ambition to regain the sales crown in China is backed by the company's strongest growth momentum among all the smartphone vendors in the country.

4. Xiaomi Partners With Naver to Use its Clova AI Assistant in Future IoT Devices

Xiaomi is not just making smartphones it is much mor than a smartphone company. Over the past few years, it has expanded its product portfolio which now includes a variety of devices starting from laptops to smart shoes. Nearly half of its products are based on IoT (Internet of Things) and in a bid to increase its prowess in the field, Xiaomi has partnered with South Korean search engine company, Naver.



On Wednesday, the Chinese electronics giant entered into a strategic partnership with Naver, a search engine company based out of South Korea. Naver is also the parent company of LINE messenger and the developer of Clove personal assistant. The strategic partnership between Xiaomi and Naver will help bring newer and improved AI-based IoT products in the market.

5. Xiaomi’s Smart Wearable Device Maker Huami Makes Debut And Raises $110M in NYSE IPO

Xiaomi's smart wearable device maker Huami Corporation rang the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) opening bell Thursday in celebration of its Initial Public Offerings and has been officially been listed on the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday and would trade under the ticker symbol “HMI”, notching the first NYSE IPO of a Chinese company this year.



Huami shares finished their first trading day on Thursday at $11.25, up about 2.3% from their initial public offering (IPO) price. The company had priced its American Depositary Shares (ADSs) at $11, representing the middle of a previously announced range of $10 to $12. The closing price gave the company a market value of about $670 million.

6. Xiaomi Launches Smart Meter Heater Priced At 269 Yuan

Xiaomi launched a smart meter heater priced at 269 yuan the smart meter heater will be on sale at 10 am on 7th February.



Based on the purpose of uniformly increasing the indoor temperature, the smart meter heater uses a convection heating. Convective heat generated by the circulation of air, so that heat is evenly distributed in the interior space to avoid the traditional heat accumulation.

7. Xiaomi Launched SmartMi Pure Humidifier For $80

Xiaomi launched the all new second generation of the SMARTMi humidifier. Different from the previous generation of ultrasonic humidifier, yhe new SMARTMi pure humidifier uses the evaporation principle with 240ml / h humidification efficiency, all at a price of 499 Yuan only which translates to about $80.



In low water conditions, the user can directly fill the water in the humidifier through the air outlet at the top of the product, and by observing the water level indicator users can also understand the real-time remaining water. In addition, this product has a water tank with 4 liters of capacity, to further reduce the frequency of adding water.
