Hi Mi Fans!
MIUI 9 is not only lightning fast but it also has some new features which make you productive significantly. In this thread, we've covered Mi Video app which comes with a simple UI, manages your videos intuitively and provides new controls. Here is a detailed review of this app.
Mi Video app has a clean interface. You get two tabs - Videos and Explorer. Beneath these tabs, you also get a search option which is very helpful to search any video by its file name. On the top-right corner, you can see a clock icon which shows a history of the recently played videos.
One of the best features is a combined list of similar videos. Earlier, every episode from a single series was shown as a separate file but now you can get all the episodes collated under a single thumbnail. You just need to click on the thumbnail to expand the list of episodes under it.
The video playback interface is decluttered and you find all the essential controls very easily on the screen itself. Let me brief you about the video playback interface using this screenshot-
On the top, you will find the filename of the video which is being currently played. Adjacent to the file name, you will find 'A' icon which represents subtitle settings. Besides this, you will find an icon to select the audio track (multiple audio tracks will be shown for a multi-language video file). Lastly, on the right corner, you will find a gear icon which provides common controls like volume, brightness, and full screen.
This is one of the most useful and exclusive features. We now have subtitle support from Opensubtitles.org. You can simply tap the cloud icon under subtitle settings and a list of available subtitles will be shown. Simply tap the subtitle file from a list of subtitles available and it will be added instantly! You can even add a subtitle file from your local storage. Additionally, you can choose between three preset subtitle sizes and can also select the text color under subtitle settings.
Audio Track Settings
If you have a video file with multi audio tracks then you can easily switch to other language using this feature. Just tap on the name of the audio tracks available.
Under this settings, you can adjust volume and brightness. A full-screen toggle option is also available.
Note: You will be asked to add a password only once.
