Hello Mi Fans,

I am come back with new poll about "Are System animation is helpful/worth in battery saving ?",Let's get started.

What is System animations ?
system animations are the visual animation which occurs while navigating from one screen to another.

This will affect your battery life, turning animations off will bit increase the performance of your device as CPU is free for calculating such effects and rendering those effects.

Turn off animation, navigate to

Settings – Additional settings – Developer options – Window animation scale – Animation off

How to Enable Developer options?
Step 1: Open Settings app on your Mi device.

Step 2:Scroll down and tap on About Phone.

Step 3: Tap on MIUI version for about 7-10 times.

Step 4: You should see a message saying “You are now a developer”. Now for access developer option go to settings -- Additional settings -- Developer options.

Are System animation is really helpful in battery saving ?

You should have added a 3rd option "don't know". I personally don't know whether it is useful in battery saving, but it is useful if you have a device with low RAM. Too bad I can't see the results of this poll. Next time add a "don't know" option so people like us can see the results

I'm a professional Android developer and would like to add that even though disabling animations might have a small impact on performance or battery, it is something you should not do. A lot of apps that are not written well rely on animation duration to perform certain actions (e.g. when a button is clicked, show an animation for 5 seconds then do a task) but disabling or speeding up animations will cause these actions to be executed faster than intended since the animation complete callback comes faster, and this can lead to undesirable effects. You will notice the same when you turn on battery saver mode too. An example of one such app is Uber (don't know if they've fixed it in the latest update)

So my answer is, definitely not worth it.
