MIUI always surprises us by giving new features. To those who already use MIUI 8 you might have not noticed that there is a NEW FEATURE added on it, that is Mi Drop, Here I'll introduce this feature.
You remember how we use to send files via Bluetooth - and it was in fact slow. Now, we can send big files via Wi-Fi Direct peer-to-peer sharing, but for that we have to rely to 3rd party apps like ShareIt or Xender. Now, this feature is fully integrated to MIUI via the all new Mi Drop App.
What is Mi Drop?
Mi Drop is an application that connects two or more smartphones to share photos, applications, and other media.
How to enable Mi Drop?
The simplest way to enable the Mi Drop is just drag down your Notification Panel and select 'Mi Drop'
How to Send files via Mi Drop?
When you have to send any file, First enable the Mi Drop App and then Go to File Manager > choose the files you want to Send and select Mi Drop
How to Receive files via Mi Drop?
Make sure that your receiving phone has Mi Drop feature enabled. Just pull down your Notification Panel, and select Mi Drop
Once Mi Drop is enabled the receiving phone will get a popup for accepting/receiving the the files, click on accept to get the files.
Once transfer is complete you will get a popup message that the file is received. click on ok to cancel the popup or you cal click on view file if you want to view your received file.
Thanks for spending your valuable time to read this. If you have any query regarding this feature, post your query in the reply. If possible, I'll try to answer it.
Imp: we can only use trhis feature for Mi devices only (other devices then Xiaomi are not supported yet)
