[Q&A] Software update freezes the STYJ02YM vacuum

I have a problem with STYJ02YM vacuum. While it was updating, the update froze and it was not finished. The vacuum is frozen and I can’t do anything with it. The Mi Home app shows “Device offline”, buttons on the vacuum are flashing slowly. I have tried different button combinations to hard reset it and I have also unplugged the battery for a few minutes but nothing helped. When I plug in the battery again, the vacuum buttons’ LEDs are still slowly flashing. Is there any possibility to flash the software again into the vacuum or any other solution?

Hello,

can you try to turn on the robot and after that hold the home button for 5+ seconds..

if you hear an chinese voice...press again on the home button.

Hmm, that's the way to do a factory reset.
Did you do this with connected to the charger dock?

I also tried to do this with a dock connected to the station. Does not work. Vacuum cleaner just doesn't respond

the newest firmware 045 is a trash .Robot screws everything like stops in the middle of vacumming ,losts map ,stuck in 1 place etc. Xiaomi needs to adress these issues asap!

I sent emails everywhere I could and:
1. The seller can't help me
2. Xiaomi global and other regions of Xiaomi's support are redirecting me to seller / chinese Xiaomi support
3. Chinese Xiaomi support is not responding...

I've tried to find spare motherboards for this model, but I wasn't able to.

I have the same issue. Man I love Xiaomi products but support is so bad.

I will post here if I ever find a solution. I hope someone figures this out sooner or later.
