We all know about the launching events of MIUI 11 and Redmi Note 8 Pro in India. (for details - Features, FAQ)
With Note 8 Pro, for the first time in India - Alexa (Amazon built Virtual Assiatant) comes pre-installed within any phone.
Here's how to Set it up -
Step 1: Download and install the Amazon Alexa app from the Google Play store.
Step 2: Set-up the app by logging in your Amazon credentials.
Step 3: Now, head over to phone’s Settings Open Apps tap on the three dots icon on the top-right corner and select Configure apps/Default Apps.
Depending on the ROM you are using, you can directly search for Assist apps or default apps in the settings search.
Step 4: A new window will open with multiple options, select Assist & Invoice Input Assist App. A small pop-up will then ask you to Choose Assist App.
Step 5: Once you set Alexa as default assistant, long-press the hardware or software home navigation button, and it will prompt Alexa ready to listen to your voice commands.
Amazon Alexa has made its way to Android phones as an assistant, but its functionality is limited as of now.
