Totally not necessary. From the comparison itself it basically points out that all that it would take for a tablet to become a smart display and eliminate the product all together is a software update to account for all the "focus" on voice commands. Which to be honest why wouldn't we have all these commands on our phones and tablets anyway? The only other thing would be the better speaker on the display which is easily accomplished by having a dock for your tablet. Which right now Asus already made a nice dock for their ROG II which I really hope Xiaomi makes a rival for for our full line of Mi Phones. (USB C connector. Don't need ROG's special connector)
All in all I'd even go so far as to say tablets aren't even necessary because a full laptop is going to be much more powerful and if you can make one portable enough (or convertible) then it doubles as a tablet on the go anyway. So now just dock your laptop (there are plenty of those) and also Xiaomi get us Xiao AI (and with multilanguage support already!) onto our Mi laptops and boom you just turned one product with an accessory into being three whole products by another company!
Thanks for sharing. This seems to be a revival of a "Digital Display" introduced some years back but with an added "twist". Yes, welcome back to this latest device called "smart display". I look forward to a smarter functions of same indeed.
