[Q & A] Issue with projecting in my car

Hi,

I have just purchased a Xiaomi Mi 9T which I'm currently really enjoying but have 1 issue that is driving me insane.
I have a Vauxhall Corsa on which I have the option to project my android auto app instead of using my screen which I have used on my old phone. But for whatever reason I'm not able to project my screen now, the phone is detected and a request on the car screen appears as it normally had but once the I hit switch nothing is happening.
Are there any restriction on the device that may stop the following from working properly? Thank you in advance

I don't know, Android auto on a lot of phones is tetchy, to say the least (and I worked on the project so I can say that :P ). I'll try and find a way to go around it. I suppose you are on the standard equipment in the Corsa?

Cheers, I'll see if I can find something
EDITED : yep, sorry to say, it IS a global issue with the K20/Mi9T, they all seem to have exactly the same issue. Which, in a twisted way, is good, as it means the numbers are there to get the devs to sort it out in an update. Make sure you use the settings-feedback tab to log the problem.

Try to install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motordata.obd app. It’s convenient for using with any type of a car. I use it with my Kia and have no troubles with data shown. It’s really useful if you have any troubles with your car functionality.

I had a 66 plate Astra & Android Auto was so flaky it was unbelievable. Tried it with Mi 6, Mi A2, Redmi Note 4, Redmi 3S & Redmi 5 Plus. Actually the most reliable phone was Redmi 3S... :-D
