Congrats to Spain but hopefully you'll go for the original CC9e or its improved CC9 form instead. That way you can enjoy the powerful hardware but with much better MIUI instead of vanilla Android.
but for security update, which one will have longer term update security wise?
We can look at StageFright as the example. When StageFright happened it was reported that all android and android based phones like our Mi Phones were affected. For the next few months Google didn't have an answer. Meanwhile a week after the reports Xiaomi gave us an OTA update that patched the StageFright issue. We've been immune ever since. But Google's patch that came months later was found to not be effective and more months later they had to patch it again.
And of course we already know how unsafe Google Play is with tons of spoofing security breaches, trojans that can reprogram Google Play to install a fake hacked app to your phone instead of the app you actually meant to download, apps that are actually just malware that bypassed Google's security and that's beside the fact that we all know that Google itself spies on its users.
In terms of security I definitely side with MIUI over android.
