DUAL BAND GPS
GPS has been in our smartphones for years. It’s a location tracking system facilitated by 32 satellites owned by the US government. The service uses a number of different frequency bands from 1,176MHz to 1,610MHz. Traditionally, smartphones have been using single-frequency for GPS service, but dual-band GPS like the one in the Redmi K20 will now allow smartphones to use two bands thus improving accuracy and speed. It’s not a big breakthrough but there are good use cases for it. With the release of Game Turbo 2.0, Redmi promises to deliver better gaming experience - as revealed through a weibo post. The Game Turbo 2.0 will be a new iteration of the Game turbo that has been seen on the Pocophone F1. This will be the new iteration of the Game Turbo feature that recently debuted on the Poco F1 through a new MIUI Global Beta update. Moreover, the addition is claimed to enhance the gaming experience on the new Redmi phone.
Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing has suggested the arrival of the DC Dimming feature on the Redmi K20. The technology which has been first seen on the One Plus 7 Pro It saves eyes from unnecessary strain when using it in low-brightness. The technique adjusts the DC current to dim the display. Smartphone manufacturers have been using DC dimming on LCDs for years, but it was only recently that they started to add it on AMOLED smartphones. This is because DC dimming has a big drawback. At low levels of brightness, the colors often come out skewed on OLED panels. In OLED panels, a change in voltage could change the emitted colors. So, at lower levels of voltage, the perceived quality of the smartphone display could go down significantly.
