I am not willing to do that-I have over 200 apps on my phone and reinstalling everything and backing up all my files would be a huge chore. Additionaly, I already factory reset it earlier because of a constant restart loop ~every 30s

Same here, issues with March update 266mb. Resetting phone didnt help. I'm just waiting for April's update, to see if that works.

Attention all people who have this problem! I had the problem with the February update and it continued with the March update.
The only way to solve this problem, as the device is unable to recieve a fix update, is to reflash the stock rom which is found here: https://en.miui.com/download-354.html. It is not the latest version but I have tested it and it allowed me to update after one try. It can be flashed by a couple easy steps
WARNING THIS WILL ERASE YOUR DATA SO BACK UP ANYTHING YOU NEED BEFOREHAND
1: Download MI Flasher here: http://www.mediafire.com/file/cws8z16qg0k5zjj/MiFlash20181115.zip

2: Hold the volume down and power button together until your screen says Fastboot(Image below)

3: Plug your phone into your computer's usb port

4:Download 7-Zip and unzip the .zip file, then extract the .tgz file inside, then extract the contents of the .tar file from there. Your extracted folder should look something like this now:[img][/img] if the image doesnt work there should be some files like flash_all.bat

5: Select the extracted folder in Mi flash tool

6: Select flash all lock in mi flash(its on the bottom)

6a: Click driver(Top Left) and click install just in case

7: click flash

8: set up your device and you should recieve the update shortly
Hope this helps!

You're right buddy. My installation problem from March, was followed to April. After much thought, i tried to flash rom as you suggested. Unfortunately, my bootloader is locked by xiaomi. I can't flash unless my phone is unlocked by xiaomi. I emailed xiaomi support, and was replied to claim warranty. This is just hassling me more. Sorry guys but xiaomi **s atleast for me

I forgot to add this in the tutorial, you can type fastboot oem unlock in a command window(install fastboot drivers first) and your bootloader will be unlocked(warning: make sure to select flash all lock on the mi flasher bc bootloop issue)
