Nian gao (also niangao; nin gou in Cantonese, tikoy in Philippines), sometimes translated as year cake or Chinese New Year's cake, is a food prepared from glutinous rice flour to steam for hours and consumed in Chinese cuisine, especially during Chinese New Year. Basic nian gao only needs 3 ingredients to make: glutinous rice flour (sticky rice/sweet rice flour), sugar, and water.

This is how you prepare if you cannot finish your 'niangao' while still soft and tender. Keep in the fridge and cut it to pieces, sliced with yam & sweet potato with batter and deep fry it. Super delicious! Have a try (^^ゞ

I enjoy cooking/baking/preserving using spray-free, organically grown freshly harvested produce from my garden (or bartered from neighbouring gardens).
