Very recently Mi MIX was announced winner of IDEA (American Industrial Design Excellence Award) and now Mi MIX received another overseas honour - with a groundbreaking full-screen design, it is added to the world-renowned collection of the National Design Museum of Finland.
The Finnish National Design Museum, located in Helsinki, Finland, was founded in 1873 as one of the most important design museums in the Nordic region and one of the world's oldest and most famous visual design museums. It focuses on the collection of industrial design, fashion and graphic design and other areas of the world's most outstanding works of art.
This Museum has a collection of more than 75,000 pieces of design collection, where the famous architect Alvar Aalto works and the famous Finnish brand iittala, marimekko works are included. Now, Mi MIX opened a new collection for the first modern smart phone.
"It points out the direction of future design of smartphones," said Jukka Savolainen, curator of the National Design Museum, Finland. "The collection of Mi MIX is based on its outstanding design philosophy and the tremendous impact on the design industry. This design by the design master Philippe Starck has created a comprehensive new screen design trend in smartphone industry, and also won a wide reputation in the global range.
In fact, Mi MIX is the first full-screen designed smartphone which is stunning the world. It is unanimously recognized and highly praised by domestic & foreign media like Forbes, The Business Insider, The Verge etc. Xiaomi announced its successor Mi MIX 2, to be launched on September 11th which is said to be a true bezel-less smartphone in the history of Smartphone Industry designed by design master Philippe Starck himself again.
