[Discussion] Which Is The Best Thing You Prefer The Most In Your Smartphone Camera?

Hello, Mi Fans. You are aware about the best use of dual cameras, but now we will estimate your opinion on the more fundamental photography issue. By that time, we want to know what do you expect from a smartphone camera? Tuning the output of any smartphone’s camera is all about finding the right balance. What makes this so hard is that everyone’s priorities are different, so there’s no universal solution.

For example, some people love their colours more saturated so the images appear punchier, but boosting saturation inevitably leads to an increase in the noise levels. A more neutral colour reproduction works better in terms of noise, but it may produce flat unappealing images on many occasions.

1. Sharpness: Sharpness is arguably the most important photographic image quality factor because it determines the amount of detail an imaging system can reproduce. Lost sharpness can be restored by sharpening, but sharpening has limits. Oversharpening can degrade image quality by causing "halos" to appear near contrast boundaries. Images from many compact digital cameras are sometimes oversharpened to compensate for lower image quality.

2. Image Noise: Images have a random variation of brightness or colour information, and are usually an aspect of electronic noise. It can be produced by a scanner or digital camera sensor and circuitry. Image noise can also be produced in grains and may be in the essential shot noise of an ideal photon detector. Image noise of image capture is an undesirable product, which combines fake and external information.

Images of a flower taken at ISO 100 and ISO 1600 on a digital camera. Both images were shot under similar lighting conditions, varying only the ISO setting and shutter speed.

Comparison of both images. This is a crop of a small section of each image displayed at 100%. The top portion was shot at 100 ISO, the bottom portion at 1600 ISO.

3. Dynamic Range: When the word 'dynamic range' is mentioned, many people will think of HDR, or 'High Dynamic Range'. With this period and technique, photography is very popular in the world, it is rarely believed that what is a really dynamic range, why alone you want it to be 'high'. In a nutshell, the measurement between the maximum and minimum values in the dynamic range is described.

4. Contrast also known as Gamma, is the slope of the tone reproduction curve in the log-log space. High contrast usually involves the loss of dynamic range - expansion in highlights or shadows, or loss of clipping.

5. Colour accuracy is an important but obscure image quality factor, many viewers prefer better color saturation; The most accurate color is not necessarily the most pleasant, yet it is important to measure the color response of a camera: the effectiveness of its color variation, saturation, and its white balance algorithm.

6. Exposure accuracy can be a problem with fully automated cameras and video cameras where there is little or no opportunity for post exposure tonal adjustment. Some people also have exposure memory: Exposure can change after very fast or dark objects appear in a scene.
