Hello,
the fingerprint sensor of my phophone F1 stopped working, and fingerprint settings totally disappeard from settings menu. I noticed that this happened 2 days after updating the phone to MIUI 10.3.8
I just wiped data fingerprint still doesn't work, when I try to execute the tests it shows "Unknown fod sensor type"
Can someone help me ?

I found in forums that many users faced the same issue, and most of them say that it could be a software issue

It's not a hardware problem for sure.
I had the same problem and my fingerprint sensor stopped working out of a sudden.
After a hard reset, it came back but suddenly stopped again.
I tried another hard reset and realised that the fingerprint sensor was working in the beginning, but when I set the facelock on, the fingerprint sensor stopped again.
So it's definitely a software problem for me but I can't figure out what caused it.
I tried changing rom to 10.3.7 or 10.3.6 but the problem wasn't solved.

I hope MIUI 11 will solve this issue

For pocophone users whom are facing the same issue as me, try this:

1- go to manage apps
2- in the top right corner tap on the 3 dots, then shoose show all apps
3- in the search bar tap "finger" you should have 2 apps
4- shoose Fingerprint test, go to permissions then allow it the acces to the storage.

You should get back fingerprint usage instantly (without reboot)

PS: in my case I made a hard reset of my phone yesterday, and reinstalled the last version of MIUI 10.3.8
